Greetings!
My name is Jesselin Mendoza and I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of Florida. At the beginning of my career, I earned my Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice and interned in federal investigations in hopes I would one day work in the criminal justice system. However, from those experiences along with volunteering in community organizations, I saw how mental health challenges stemmed from family, community, cultural, and societal issues. That’s when I decided to pursue my Master's in Social Work where I concentrated in adult mental health and military social work. Since then, I’ve had the privilege of working with children, adolescents, adults, active duty, and veterans in community mental health agencies, residential programs, schools, and behavioral health hospitals. Currently, during the week I’m a Researcher helping run a Traumatic Brain Injury research lab, and on the weekends I’m helping clients learn how to overcome their mental health struggles.
My specialty is helping people cope with trauma, depression, and anxiety as well as helping manage life stressors. By working together, we can challenge your thoughts and behaviors that keep you stuck and foster your strengths to help you thrive in your life and relationships. I want to help you become kinder and more compassionate towards yourself and your challenges. I’m also committed to providing you with a safe space where you can learn more about yourself and step out of your comfort zone to lean in and honor your feelings (even the difficult ones).
I look forward to meeting you and I hope you will allow me to be a witness to your personal growth and healing!
